This month in poetry class: Students are learning to make connections between groups of images and other seemingly unrelated subjects. They might be describing school using war terminology, describing family using water terms, or describing life using math terms. Get ready for poems with back to back metaphors.
The SPARC Poetry fall after school programs are wrapping up with the culminating poetry slam event Friday, December 13th. This “Battle of the Beach” has all six Pacifica youth teams battling each other on stage, and I’ve never seen youth so excited about self expression. Come by Ocean Shore School to enjoy the show and support these students who are ready to change the world.
