SPARC Poetry is starting this school year off with filming and editing! Over the first couple of months of school, 5th grade students had a crash course in learning how to create jump cuts, introduce off-screen and camera cover transitions, and add voice over and background music. Now that film boot camp has finished, students are moving on to learning poetry tricks and they will soon be creating poetry videos. Check out some Cabrillo and Ortega students first short films!

2. Public Speaking - Conquering America's Greatest Fear
Public speaking is one of the top fears American adults have. Students in elementary schools are at the perfect age to practice and learn how to be fearless in front of audiences of all sizes. These skills will stay with them throughout life.
3. Social Awareness - Developing Opinions About the World Kids learn most while they are having fun. SPARC clubs and lessons get students critically thinking about the world they live in and discussing ideas to better it.
